Home
Meals Delivery Inc. is a non-profit, volunteer service in the Richmond
community which provides
nutritious lunches to individuals who have difficulty preparing
meals for themselves because of physical limitations or whose financial
needs are such that they cannot have a balanced diet. We do not
discriminate because of race, color, national origin, age, sex or
disability. Recipients may also sign up for temporary delivery such
as when recovering from an illness or injury until they can provide
for themselves.
Hot
meals are prepared daily and delivered by volunteers to the homes
of recipients Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and noon. This
program was begun in 1980 and now serves more than 15,500 hot meals
each year.
What
does it cost?
There
is a fee for meals based on the recipient's ability to pay. This
will be discussed during the initial home visit. For those who have
the means, the current cost is $2.50 per meal.
