I
had to be constantly aware of anything that caused me to think of myself
as superior. I am in the process of allowing God to give me a thorough spiritual cleaning. After that, there is no possibility of pride remaining in me. I have only met a very small number of folks that I could despair over, or lost all hope for, especially after becoming sensitive to what lived in me apart from the grace of God. Hebrews 4:14-16: Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Joshua 10:20-21 (NKJV): Then it happened, while Joshua and the children of Israel made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they had finished, that those who escaped entered fortified cities. And all the people returned to the camp, to Joshua at Makkedah, in peace. No one moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel. Job 27:1- 6 (NKJV): Moreover Job continued his discourse, and said: “As God lives, who has taken away my justice. And the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter, as long as my breath is in me, and the breath of God in my nostrils, my lips will not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit. Far be it from me that I should say you are right; Till I die I will not put away my integrity from me. My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go; my heart shall not reproach me as long as I live. Psalm 12:14 (NKJV): Help, LORD, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men. They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak. May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things, who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail; Our lips are our own; Who is lord over us?” The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Psalm 34:11-14 (NKJV): Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Who is the man who desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 37:30-31 (NKJV): The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of justice. The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. Proverbs 18:20-21 (NKJV
lips): A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his
mouth; from the produce of his he shall be filled. Death and life are
in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. |
