RICHMOND
, Ky. – Global Day of Prayer is scheduled for May 15, 2005, just
10 days after some 35 people participated in a World Day of Prayer
observance in front of the Madison County Courthouse.
The
Rev. Tiger Pennington, president of the Richmond Area Ministerial
Association, led the 30-minute session on May 5, which focused on
prayers of unity pray for God to move. Prayers were directed toward
the community, state, nation and world.
Although
several local churches opened their doors for prayer on May 5, unity
of the different churches was well represented at the center of
local government, the front steps of the Madison County courthouse.
Numerous
local churches were represented within the group, with as many as
15 people contributing to the group prayer. Individual prayers could
be heard after the group prayers ended.
The
Richmond Area Ministerial Association holds unity worship services
every fifth Sunday in different churches.
Because
of Memorial Day, the next 5 th Sunday Service is scheduled for 6
p.m. on May 22 at Rosedale Baptist Church .
A
July 31 unity service is scheduled at First Christian Church.

on the Rock, spoke a prophetic word that the key to unlocking God's
presence in this area is unity among believers.
One
goal of Global Day of Prayer, according to www.globaldayofprayer.com
, is to build a canopy of prayer
over all the continents through a 10-day prayer focus between May
6 and May 15. The purpose is to establish
day-and-night prayer furnaces for 10 days all over the world to
pray for the healing of the nations and for the glory of the Lord
to be revealed.
